ABOUT THE PROJECT
MINTER5 (Interactive Applications for Online Media 2) introduces us to PHP programming language and WordPress websites. For our final project, we were tasked to make an e-commerce website for a real-time client outside school. Following the clients’ needs and wants, I made a responsive WordPress website with an appetizing design that initiates users to explore the website which features delicious homemade desserts.
OBJECTIVES
- To provide a more efficient means of communication between 3K Cheesecakes and their clients.
- To make a user-friendly website for both the owner and customers.
- To establish trust between the users and the provided website information.
- To develop a working website with a contact/order form as part of the project topic in line with the client’s vision.
VISUALIZATION
Although cakes and pastries are generally associated with celebration and youth, the process of creating such delicacies can require much patience and precision, more than other varieties of food. Because of this, the tone of the website will be elegant and clean but fun. This will be shown through the juxtaposition of geometric shapes (such as grid lines) and organic forms (such as marble textures), and the use of pastel hues.
3K CHEESECAKES’ WEBSITE IS NOW LIVE!
Since this was Kaitlyn’s business, the designs shown in the wireframes and mockups earlier will be drastically different from what you will see on 3k Cheesecakes’ actual website. That is because this project was done during my time at Benilde. During the time I was taking the MINTER5 course, the business did not have a website and had only a Facebook page. On February 22, 2021, 3k Cheesecakes announced that their website is now live for faster order processing.
REFLECTION
This was my first time creating a WordPress website. Honestly, I am not a WordPress fan. There are limitations in terms of designing a website. Also, it was hard finding a free theme for e-commerce websites.
